Her master’s thesis focused on the effects of aerobic training on symptomatic mitral valve prolapse in females. Dr. Mehani pursued further specialization with a Ph.D. in Physical Therapy from Cairo University, awarded in 2007 with an Excellent degree and a score of 94%, again ranking first. Her doctoral research examined the role of aerobic training in patients with symptomatic idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. She achieved her Assistant Professor degree in Physical Therapy in 2012, with a Very Good rating of 99 points, and was promoted to Professor in 2018, with an exceptional rating of 99.3 points.

Dr. Sherin Mehani has enjoyed a distinguished career in physical therapy, marked by both academic excellence and administrative leadership. She began her professional journey as an Administrator at the Faculty of Physical Therapy, Cairo University, from 1997 to May 2003, focusing on cardiovascular-respiratory disorders and geriatrics. She then progressed to Assistant Lecturer from May 2003 to October 2007, and subsequently served as a Lecturer in cardiac rehabilitation from November 2007 to November 2012. In 2012, she was promoted to Assistant Professor at Cairo University, where she remained until 2015.

In August 2015, Dr. Mehani transitioned to Beni-Suef University, taking on various important roles, including Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Department for Internal Medicine. From March 2012 to 2021, she also served as Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs. Since 2021, she has been the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy at Beni-Suef University, where she continues to contribute significantly to both the field of physical therapy and academic administration.
