Prof. Dr. Bsim Almayahi is a distinguished professor at the University of Kufa, Iraq, specializing in environmental radiation, medical physics, and radiation protection. With a significant academic background, he has contributed extensively to the study of natural radioactivity, radiation dosimetry, and environmental safety. His research includes numerous publications in international journals, addressing the effects of radiation on the environment and human health. Prof. Almayahi is recognized for his leadership in advancing radiation safety measures in Iraq and for his active role in academic and scientific communities.

Education:

Prof. Dr. Bsim Almayahi obtained his B.Sc. in Physics from Babylon University, Iraq, in 2000, followed by an M.Sc. in Experimental Nuclear Physics from the same university in 2004. In 2013, he earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Radioactivity and Radionuclides Biomarkers from the School of Physics at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Currently, in 2024, he is undertaking post-doctoral research in Radiotherapy and Nanotechnology at Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. His academic journey reflects a strong focus on nuclear physics, environmental radioactivity, and advanced applications in radiotherapy.

Working Experience:

Prof. Dr. Bsim Almayahi has a rich teaching career, starting as a lecturer at Babylon University from 2001 to 2004, focusing on nuclear labs and health physics courses. He then taught at Qadesiyah University in 2004-2005 before joining the University of Kufa, where he has held various roles since 2005. These include teaching atomic and nuclear physics, biophysics, general physics, and radiation protection. He also served as the Head of the Environment Department (2009-2010) and has been a researcher at the Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research Unit since 2013. His current teaching includes courses on renewable energy, nuclear energy, and radiation treatment.
